RACIAL INJURIES: Injuries to black people are on the rise in the U to the point that the CDC says black people make up 12 percent of all deaths nationwide.
The black death rate from gun violence has increased from 17.2 per 100,000 in 2016 to 22.7 in 2017.
The latest data from the CDC shows there were about 3,000 black deaths in 2017, up from about 2,300 in 2016.
So far this year, there have been 6,566 black deaths.
This is the first year that the state of Florida has been able to count the death of a black person, a milestone the governor’s office said was “a huge relief.”
But even as the numbers have increased, the state’s black population has declined, with black men outnumbering their white counterparts by more than 20 percentage points, according to data from 2010.
The number of black people in Florida has dropped by more of than 1.5 million since 2010.
That’s a decrease of more than 8 percent.
While the number of people who identify as black in Florida declined, the percentage of people identifying as black who identify themselves as black has increased by more that 6 percent since 2010, according a report released by the state.
