A cotton gin inventor from Mississippi died Tuesday after suffering a heart attack.
Tom Cotton was 92.
He died at a Memphis hospital, according to his family.
Tom is survived by his wife, Mary, and three daughters, Ashley, Lauren and Hannah.
Tom and his wife were in Memphis for a visit to celebrate his birthday.
He was the co-founder of the Cotton Gin Company, a major cotton gin in Memphis, and his sons are the cofounder of Cotton and Cotton Furniture.
He founded the Cotton and T-Shirt company in 1947.
Tom was a Navy veteran who served in World War II and Korea and was awarded the Purple Heart in 1969.
He lived in Memphis with his wife and daughters.
